Rider Observer Program

Acute Rescue also offers a rider-observer program for the general public and prospective EMT’s! Anyone interested in learning about Emergency Medical Services or ART are encouraged to come and ride along.

Rider-observers spend time at the Acute Rescue station and respond with the ambulance crews as calls occur. Observers are allowed to ride along on all calls, with the exception of COVID-19+ calls, and perform simple tasks, at the discretion of the ambulance crew. This is a great way to determine if a career in EMS, or employment at ART, is right for you. Individuals under 18 must have a waiver signed by a legal guardian to participate.

If you are interested in joining Acute Rescue as an EMT, the first step is signing up to come see us in action and meet our members! All prospective EMT new hires must complete the rider-observer program requirements in order to be hired. We also partner with the majority of EMS training programs in the Treasure Valley for clinical observations.

Fill out the form below to request rider-observer placement.
